Brick-making

2018-2020

The collaborative process of hand-making and firing 350 bricks made from local Galloway clay in South-West Scotland, fired with wood over 54 hours consecutively. The bricks are yet to be exhibited or installed, however the focus of the project has always been on the process. All materials were found and reclaimed, none bought. A demonstration of the labour and skill involved in producing bricks, that construct many of our oldest structures.
Participants: Otto Gobey, Lorna Phillips, Sophie Templeton, Maya Owen, Joseph Phillips, Jasmine Forbes, Winona Vigileos, Louise Phillips and Andy Priestman.
